My name is Mrs. Knight. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art and a Master of Science in Education from The University of Tennessee in Knoxville, where my research was focused on Arts-Integration, i.e. integrating other content areas into art instruction. I have taught for twelve years in both private and public elementary schools around the nation including Washington state, Texas, and, of course, Tennessee.

I am so excited to see what’s in store for all of us this year!

I am from Nashville, and attended MNPS schools, eventually graduating from Hume-Fogg Academic. After school each day, I rode the 8th Avenue bus to Lealand Avenue, then walked to Glendale, lending a hand in my mother’s classroom as she helped start the first program of its kind in our city. Now, the circle of time has brought me back to that very school she helped establish two decades past. As its art teacher, I am humbled to serve a community that cherishes culture and language. My connection to Spanish comes from my abuelita, who was born in Mexico and eventually moved to Texas. I cherish the language and hope I can instill that love of language in your child’s heart.

My own children attend Glendale! My son, Ezra, is in fourth grade this year and my daughter, Cleo, is in Pre-K. I’m grateful that my children get to attend such an incredible school.
